WINNEBAGO COUNTY, WI — A 72-year-old woman was taken into custody Saturday afternoon after a single-vehicle rollover wreck in Menasha, according to NBC26.
The City of Menasha Police Department said the collision occurred in the 800 block of Plank Road. Officers responded to the scene for a reported injury crash at about 4:25 p.m.
Witnesses told authorities the woman’s vehicle had been swerving and was nearly involved in a head-on crash with another car before it went on to strike power pole support lines. The vehicle was then seen going airborne before coming to rest on its passenger side.
Officers arrived to find the driver trapped inside the overturned vehicle, which was stopped next to the power pole. No other passengers were in the vehicle at the time.
The female driver, a resident of Fox Crossing, was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated – First Offense. She was also taken to an area hospital by ambulance to be evaluated for injuries.
