MILWAUKEE, WI — A 74-year-old man died late Thursday afternoon after a car collided with a dump truck on Interstate 43 near east Greenfield, according to TMJ4.
The Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office said the fatal accident occurred on the eastbound interstate near Exit 9 to South 27th Street. First responders arrived at the scene shortly after 4:30 p.m.
No details have been shared regarding the cause of the crash, but a coup and a dump truck were involved.
One person suffered “very serious injuries.” He was pronounced deceased on the scene by the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Officials did not say whether the victim was the driver of the coupe, and it was unclear whether anyone else was injured.
Photos taken at the scene show severe front-end damage to the small dark-green car.
A section of the eastbound interstate was shut down for more than 6 hours, forcing all traffic to divert at 27th Street.
