MILWAUKEE, WI — Five teenagers were arrested late Tuesday after a police pursuit ended in a crash and one teen getting hit by a car in northwest Milwaukee, reports FOX6 Milwaukee.
The collision occurred near North 46th Street and West Lisbon Avenue, in the city’s Uptown area, shortly after 11:50 p.m.
Milwaukee Police said the events unfolded after officers spotted a vehicle linked to an armed robbery and attempted a traffic stop. The driver of the vehicle sped away from the officers, prompting a chase, The pursuit ended when the fleeing vehicle crashed into a curb at the intersection.
Moments after the wreck, a 15-year-old occupant tried to flee the scene on foot, but was hit by a passing vehicle. He suffered minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital.
Authorities said the teen patient and four other occupants aged 14 through 17 were taken into custody, and a firearm was recovered at the scene.
Criminal charges are expected to be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office.
