KENOSHA COUNTY, WI — Two drivers were cited for their roles in a collision early Sunday on County Highway C in south Salem, according to CBS58.

The Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene in the 27600 block of County Highway C, shortly after 2:30 a.m.

An early investigation indicates a 25-year-old Illinois man was driving a Kia eastbound when he veered into the westbound lane to avoid hitting a deer. In response, a 33-year-old Paddock Lake man driving a Ford westbound swerved to avoid the Kia.

The driver of the Ford suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to St. Catherine’s Hospital. Officials noted he was also processed for an investigation into Operating While Intoxicated.

No injuries to the Kia driver or anyone else were reported.

The sheriff’s department said both vehicles were severely damaged in the collision, and both drivers have since been cited.
