MILWAUKEE, WI — Three people were hurt Monday evening in a two-vehicle crash after one vehicle ran a red light during a police chase near northwest Milwaukee, reports WISN.
The collision occurred near the North 27th Street and West Center Street intersection, in the city’s Amani neighborhood.
According to the Milwaukee Police Department, officers were pursuing a subject wanted for a prior shooting. The suspect, who was in a red Mazda SUV, was initially able to evade police but then was seen again near 92nd Street and Burleigh Street.
Shortly after officers continued their pursuit, witnesses saw the Mazda run a red light and collide with a Jeep.
Both the driver and the passenger of the Mazda, along with the driver of the Jeep, suffered minor injuries. It was unclear whether anyone was transported to a hospital.
Officials said the occupants of the Mazda have since been taken into custody.
