OZAUKEE COUNTY, WI — One person was injured Wednesday night after a collision that led up to another crash in northeast Mequon, reports FOX6 Milwaukee.

The events unfolded at Port Washington Road and Highland Road near Missing Links Driving Range.

According to police, a driver in a maroon car hit and destroyed a temporary pole put in place to support overhead traffic signals at the intersection. The impact of the crash disrupted the function of the traffic signals and caused them to hang low over the roadway.

One occupant in the vehicle was transported to a hospital with a laceration to their head. No updates on their condition have been shared at this time.

Authorities said one passenger was taken into custody due to warrants and possession of marijuana.

During the police response, a Thiensville man drove through the scene. He displayed obvious signs of intoxication and was arrested for OWI.

The area around the intersection was shut down for nearly four hours as crews worked to replace the damaged pole.
