FOND DU LAC COUNTY, WI — A 67-year-old Chilton man died Monday morning after his motorcycle struck a dump truck on County Highway G near the township of Forest, reports We Are Green Bay.
The fatal collision occurred at the intersection with Chickadee Drive, shortly before 11:00 a.m.
According to the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office, a 61-year-old man was trying to turn left onto the westbound lanes of Chickadee Drive at the same time the motorcyclist attempted to pass.
Authorities said the victim then collided with the back tires of the truck’s driver’s side. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the dump truck was not reported hurt.
A section of the highway was shut down for nearly an hour during the emergency response and investigation.
