RACINE COUNTY, WI — A driver struck a utility pole early Monday morning near northwest Racine, causing nearby residents to lose power, according to CBS58.
The incident occurred on a span of 4 Mile Road, between State Highway 31 and Short Road at about 4:00 a.m.
Details are limited, but police said the striking driver fled the scene.
Caledonia Fire Department said a section of the road was shut down as WE Energies crews worked to repair the pole and restore power to a number of residents.
As of this writing, authorities have not released further details or an estimated clearance time.
