DANE COUNTY, WI — A vehicle accident Monday evening closed a right lane on U.S. Highway 51 near Madison Area Technical College in northeast Madison, according to 511 Wisconsin.
The collision took place on the northbound lanes at North Stoughton Service Road, in the city’s Truax area. It was first reported by 511 at 6:20 p.m.

It was unclear what led up to the crash, but the scene was not announced clear until nearly an hour later at 7:12 p.m., indicating a serious crash and extended emergency response.
