FOND DU LAC COUNTY, WI — A utility terrain vehicle broke through ice Thursday evening on Lake Winnebago near north Fond du Lac, prompting a response from multiple emergency crews, reports NBC26.
Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue crews, Fond du Lac Police officers, and Fond du Lac County deputies all arrived at the scene along Garden Drive, near the Lakeside Park area, shortly before 7:00 p.m.
Authorities learned a UTV had fallen through the ice and into the lake at a depth of three to four feet. They observed multiple people standing on the ice around the site, attempting to recover the vehicle.
No injuries were reported at the time of the incident, and Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue crews returned to service after confirming no immediate life or safety emergencies.
