MILWAUKEE COUNTY, WI — A 26-year-old man was charged after after crashing into several cars at a car dealership early Sunday, February 13, during a police chase in Greenfield, reports FOX6 Milwaukee.

The collision occurred at Rosen Nissan, near the South 27th Street and West Grange Avenue intersection, shortly after 2:15 a.m.

Greenfield Police said the events first unfolded off South 27th Street, near West Cold Spring Road, where an officer detected two drivers traveling at 80 miles per hour in a 40 mph zone.

Shortly after, one of the speeding drivers abruptly swerved to avoid stop sticks that had been put in place by another officer. The driver then lost control, causing his SUV to go airborne into power lines before slamming into multiple vehicles at the nearby lot.

The driver attempted to flee the scene but was apprehended and arrested at the scene. Authorities said he was taken to a local hospital for an evaluation.

As of this writing, the suspect has made his first Milwaukee County court appearance and is due back for a preliminary hearing on February 23.

He faces criminal counts of “vehicular operator flee/elude officer, causing damage to property,” and “second-degree recklessly endangering safety.”
