APPLETON, WI — A series of collisions were reported Tuesday morning on Interstate 41 near north Appleton, according to WBAY.
The events unfolded on the southbound interstate between Wisconsin Highway 441 and County Highway A.
One crash blocked the left lane near Richmond Street while another blocked both shoulders near Ballard Road one exit away. Outagamie County dispatchers said at least three separate accidents were recorded in the surrounding area.
Appleton police attributed the crashes to distracted driving and motorists not allowing enough space between vehicles, noting there were no outstanding weather conditions at the time of the crashes.
