COLUMBIA COUNTY, WI — A Wisconsin State Patrol trooper was hospitalized Sunday morning after a rear-end collision on Interstate 39 near Poynette, reports TMJ4.
Authorities said the incident occurred on the southbound lanes at around 11:00 a.m.
An early investigation indicates the officer was sitting inside his cruiser while conducting a traffic stop when his vehicle was rear-ended by a Honda Pilot SUV.
The trooper suffered non-life-threatening injuries, but no updates on his condition has been released.
The driver of the SUV was not reported injured.
As of this writing, it is unclear whether or not the causing driver faces any charges or citations.
