BIG BEND, WI – A van transporting 16 dogs from Austin, TX to an animal shelter in Washington County crashed in Big Bend on New Year’s Eve, Fox 7 Austin reports. None of the animals was hurt, though the van’s driver was hospitalized with minor injuries.
The van overturned on I-43 near State Trunk Highway 164 at about 8 a.m. on Friday, January 31. No other vehicles were involved in the collision. The Big Bend Fire Department responded to the crash, as did the Washington County Humane Society, which transported the animals to its facility.
The Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department is continuing to investigate the crash.
