MILWAUKEE, WI — A 31-year-old man was hospitalized Friday afternoon after a two-vehicle accident involving a traffic pole in northwest Milwaukee’s Lincoln Park area, reports FOX6 Milwaukee.
The collision occurred at the corner of North Teutonia Avenue and West Hampton Avenue at about 12:30 p.m.
Milwaukee police said the man ran a red light at the intersection and crashed into another vehicle. The impact of that collision sent his car into a nearby traffic pole, splitting the vehicle open.
Authorities said the man had to be extricated before being transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.
No other injuries were reported in the event.
