WAUKESHA COUNTY, WI — A driver was hospitalized Sunday after veering off a road and into a house in southwest Menomonee Falls, according to CBS58.
The accident happened near the intersection of West Main Street and Rock Pointe Way.
It was unclear what led up to the crash, but authorities said the car hit a gas meter attached to the structure. Authorities said the gas meter indicated the basement then filled with gas that fell in the “explosive” range.
Firefighters worked to ventilate the home, and crews with We Energies arrived to turn off the gas.
Medics transported the driver to an area hospital, where their condition remains undisclosed.
No other injuries were reported in the incident.
The case is expected to be handled by the Waukesha Sheriff’s Office.
