News: 85-year-old bicyclist fatally struck by semi-truck in Little Chute

LITTLE CHUTE, WI – An elderly man was fatally struck by a tractor-trailer while riding his bicycle in Little Chute this morning.

According to a report by WFRV, emergency crews were dispatched to the scene near E. North Avenue and Freedom Road at about 10:30 a.m.

Police say the collision involving a semi-truck and a bicyclist. The bicyclist, who has since been identified as 85-year-old James Van Asten from Appleton, died at the hospital after the crash.

The events leading up to the fatal collision remain unclear at this time.
