JEFFERSON COUNTY, WI — One person died Wednesday evening after their motorcycle collided with another vehicle on Wisconsin State Highway 106 near southwest Sullivan, reports TMJ4.
Deputies with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office were called to the scene at the intersection with Mehring Road at about 6:25 p.m.
An early investigation shows a vehicle was traveling northbound on Mehring Road when it approached the stop sign at WIS-106. It was unclear whether the vehicle came to a full stop, but its driver then pulled into the intersection to head westbound. Moments later, it was struck by the victim’s motorcycle.
The rider, who suffered critical injuries, was pronounced deceased at the scene, confirmed officials. The other driver sustained minor injuries, but authorities did not say whether that person had to be taken to a hospital.
No charges have been reported as of this writing, but an investigation remains in progress.
