GREEN BAY, WI – A driver of an Ama Heating and Air-conditioning van ran a red light and hit a school bus, sending two students to a hospital Wednesday.

This crash occurred after 7:30 a.m. at the Crooks Street and South Webster Avenue junction in downtown, according to WBAY

An ambulance took the two school children, who sustained minor wounds, to a hospital as a precaution. Paramedics evaluated the work van driver for injuries. They did not say if he was wounded, but police did confirm he would be cited for running a red light.

The impact of the collision resulted in a damaged traffic light, an oil spill on the road, and a damaged fire hydrant, which landed on its side.

Police noted that there was heavy rain, although they did not specify if weather conditions also played a role in this crash.
