RACINE, WI – One boat operator was traveling at a high rate, leading them to hit another boat and sending many occupants, including one juvenile, to Froedtert Hospital Sunday.
Racine County News/ Scanner said this incident happened east of the Reefpoint Marina in Lake Michigan. The Racine County Sheriff’s Office, the county dive team, and many other first responders arrived at the scene after 9 p.m.
Deputies noted that three occupants were on the first boat, which included minors, and 11 on the second one, also including juveniles. They did not specify the number of people hospitalized but said one minor was hospitalized.
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is taking the lead on this investigation and has not shared other details at this time.
