WAUKESHA, WI – Police suspect a truck did not stop for a school bus’ red flashing lights, leading the truck driver to strike the side of the bus Wednesday, injuring eight students.

This collision happened before 7:30 a.m. at the Wolf Road and East Moreland Boulevard junction. TMJ4 said 35 occupants — 34 students and the driver — were on the bus at the time of the crash. Authorities said among the eight injured students, first responders took one student to the hospital as a precaution.

Local police started an investigation and have not said if the truck driver will be cited or charged for refusing to stop for the flashing lights.
