MILWAUKEE, WI — Authorities responded to a jackknifed semi-truck and a resulting fuel spill Thursday morning on Interstate 43 in Milwaukee’s Westown area, according to TMJ4.
The accident occurred on the northbound side of I-43 approaching West Michigan Street, at the Marquette Interchange. It was first reported by the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office at 7:34 a.m.
While officials have not said what caused the incident, all northbound lanes were blocked in the area as tow and cleanup crews worked to clear the scene.
According to the sheriff’s office, one person was taken to a local hospital for minor injuries after being involved in a secondary accident that appeared to be caused by the slick roadway.
