MILWAUKEE, WI — A 29-year-old man was seriously injured Sunday when he was hit by a vehicle while riding a motorcycle in Milwaukee’s south side, reports TMJ4.
The collision occurred at the intersection of South Cesar E Chavez Drive and West Forest Home Avenue, in the city’s Historic Mitchell Street neighborhood. It was first reported at around 5:00 p.m.
According to the Milwaukee Police Department, the motorcyclist was traveling southbound on Cesar Chavez Drive on a green light. A driver heading eastbound on West Forest Home Avenue failed to stop at a red light, causing their vehicle to collide with the motorcyclist in the intersection.
Authorities said the rider suffered life-threatening injuries. No updates on the patient’s condition have been provided at this time.
The causing driver, whose identity remains unknown at this time, fled the scene without stopping. The MPD has not released a description of the fleeing vehicle.
