BROWN COUNTY, WI — A trailer caught fire Tuesday morning, closing a section of Interstate 41 in west De Pere, according to We Are Green Bay.
The accident happened on the southbound lanes just past the Ashland Avenue entrance ramp. It was first reported by We Are Green Bay at 9:22 a.m.
Authorities have not confirmed what led up to the blaze, but a crash appears to have occurred prior to the incident.
The closure was projected to stay in place for about two hours as crews worked to clear the roadway. Motorists were asked to find alternate routes, with one suggested route that goes west on Main Avenue, south of Packerland Drive, east on Scheuring Road, and then back onto Interstate 41 South.
No other information has been released, and no injuries have been reported at this time.
