MILWAUKEE, WI — A 16-year-old boy was hospitalized early Sunday after a two-vehicle crash in southwest Milwaukee’s Burnham Park area, reports CBS58.
The collision occurred near South 31st Street and West Rogers Street, at around 1:08 a.m.
According to authorities, one vehicle was traveling northbound on South 31st Street when it hit a second vehicle heading eastbound on West Rogers Street.
The victim, who was a passenger in the second vehicle, was ejected in the impact of the crash and suffered life-threatening injuries. He was rushed to an area hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
No other injuries have been reported, but at this time, Milwaukee Police do not have information on the first vehicle and its driver, who fled the scene.
The driver of the second car, a 17-year-old boy, was taken into custody. He faces criminal charges pending a review by the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office.
