RACINE COUNTY, WI — A man has been arrested for his alleged role in a hit-and-run crash Tuesday that seriously hurt a We Energies contractor in the Town of Burlington, according to TMJ4.

The Racine County Sheriff’s Office said the incident took place near Honey Lake Road and Spring Prairie Road.

An early investigation indicates the victim was working as a flagger when she was struck on the southbound side of Honey Lake Road. The vehicle, described as a white four-door, likely late-2000s model diesel Chevrolet with black rims and tinted windows, fled the scene without stopping.

The victim was rushed to an area hospital with serious injuries. Authorities said she broke both legs and an arm, and suffered several lacerations and bruises.

On Wednesday, the following day, RCSO deputies arrested the suspect driver, a 41-year-old man, after receiving multiple tips. The suspect has since confessed to his role and was taken to Racine County Jail. He faces several charges pending from the Racine County District Attorney’s Office, including felony hit-and-run – causing injury, and negligent operation – causing great bodily harm.
