BROWN COUNTY, WI — A vehicle crashed into a residence early Saturday as a driver fled an attempted traffic stop in the Village of Howard, according to NBC26.
The crash was said to have occurred at the end of a cul-de-sac, but authorities have not disclosed the exact location.
Officials with the Brown County Sheriff’s Office said the agency initially received an open-line 911 call, which was later found to have been made from a phone inside an area vehicle. When Village of Howard deputies tried to pull the vehicle over, the driver fled into their vehicle hit a home down the dead-end road.
After the crash, one occupant in the vehicle fled the scene on foot, while another remained on the scene. The BCSO and a K-9 unit were able to locate and apprehend the fleeing occupant a short time later.
An investigation remains ongoing, but drugs are suspected to have contributed to the event.
