SHEBOYGAN COUNTY, WI — A 58-year-old man was hospitalized Monday night after being struck by a vehicle near a Sheboygan intersection, according to TMJ4.
The incident occurred in the area of North 14th Street and Michigan Avenue, between the city’s Erie Hill and Gateway neighborhoods.
Sheboygan Police said the male pedestrian was crossing North 14th Street when he was hit by a vehicle driven by a 37-year-old Plymouth man.
First responders transported the victim to a local hospital with injuries considered non-life-threatening.
The male driver, who initially continued driving away from the scene, later returned when authorities arrived. He was arrested for an investigation into “OWI [(Operating While Intoxicated)] causing injury” as well as “hit-and-run causing injury.” The Sheboygan County District Attorney’s Office is expected to review the charges.
