MILWAUKEE, WI — A vehicle collided with a utility pole early Tuesday in north Milwaukee, downing wires across Green Bay Avenue, according to FOX 6 Milwaukee.
The incident occurred near the intersection with Stark Street, in the city’s Lincoln Park neighborhood.
It was not immediately clear what events led up to the crash, but crews arrived to find the utility pole laid across the roof of the vehicle. Wires were also seen downed across Green Bay Avenue.
First responders did not find anyone inside or around the impacted vehicle, indicating the driver had fled the scene.
We Energies crew members were called to the scene to clear the wires from the roadway.
Authorities have not released any other information at this time, but the Milwaukee Police Department are investigating.
