DODGE COUNTY, WI — Three people, including a juvenile, were hospitalized Sunday after a crash on Wisconsin State Highway 49 near the town of Leroy, according to FOX 6 Milwaukee.
The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office said the collision took place in the westbound lanes east of County Highway YY.
An early investigation shows a Waupun woman was driving a Kia Rio sedan eastbound in the westbound highway. At one point, her car struck a westbound Kia sedan, driven by another woman from Waupun. Moments later, a westbound Dodge Grand Caravan driven by a Waupun man collided with the second Kia sedan.
First responders rushed the first driver by airlift to Aurora Summit with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The second driver and her passenger, a juvenile, also both suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to Milwaukee’s Froedtert Hospital and ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah, respectively.
Officials said the driver of the Grand Caravan was not reported hurt.
A section of the highway was blocked off during the response.
The DCSO continues to investigate.
