MILWAUKEE, WI — A 47-year-old man died Sunday evening after a police chase ended in a crash that injured six others, including 5 teenagers, in northwest Milwaukee, reports TMJ4.
The wreck occurred near the intersection of North 22nd Street and West North Avenue, in the city’s Amani neighborhood, shortly after 7:22 p.m.
According to Milwaukee Police, officers began pursuing a stolen vehicle in the area of 11th and Center after receiving reports of an armed robbery. At one point, the vehicle collided with another vehicle at North 22nd Street and West North Avenue, killing the 47-year-old man, who was a passenger in the struck car.
The driver of the struck vehicle was transported to a local hospital with undisclosed injuries, but officials said the patient is expected to survive.
Five teenage boys who were traveling in the stolen car, all aged between 13 and 15 years old, also suffered undisclosed injuries and taken to a hospital. No information on their conditions has been shared but they are expected to survive.
Milwaukee Police said a firearm was recovered from the suspect’s vehicle and that the district attorney’s office will be reviewing criminal charges in the coming days.
