MARINETTE COUNTY, WI — A 36-year-old Coleman resident died Saturday morning after a single-vehicle accident on County Highway B near the Town of Pound, according to FOX11 News.
The crash happened near the intersection with North 9th Road. Officials with the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene shortly after 7:18 a.m.
An early investigation indicates the man’s car crashed into a ditch, then was sent into the air and collided with a number of trees. The male driver, who was found to have not been wearing a seat belt at the time, was ejected in the crash and died from his injuries at the scene.
No other injuries were reported and no other vehicles were involved.
Officials say alcohol and speed are believed to have contributed to the fatal accident.
