MILWAUKEE COUNTY, WI — Two 17-year-old boys were taken into custody early Saturday after a police pursuit led to a crash in West Allis, reports TMJ4.
West Allis Police said the events unfolded in the area of South 70th Street and West Rogers Street.
According to authorities, officers observed an Acura traveling at high speeds and tried to conduct a traffic stop, but the driver sped away and disregarded a stop sign. One officer continued following the fleeing vehicle as stop sticks were place on the roadway. At one point, the driver lost control, and the vehicle collided with a light pole and concrete posts in a nearby parking lot.
The vehicle’s two occupants, two 17-year-old boys from Milwaukee, were arrested and transported to an area hospital. The extent of their injuries was not disclosed.
West Allis Police said a firearm and unspecified drugs were discovered in the crash Acura. At this time the District Attorney’s office is reviewing charges.
