DANE COUNTY, WI — One person has died after a multi-vehicle crash Saturday night on U.S. Highway 151 near southwest Sun Prairie, according to WBAY.
The Sun Prairie Police Department said the fatal accident happened on the northbound lanes, just north of the Reiner Road bridge, at about 8:43 p.m.
It was unclear what led up to the crash, but three vehicles were involved. Occupants from every vehicle were transported to a local hospital, and one patient was later pronounced deceased.
Traffic was moving past the area at 3:50 a.m., but the northbound highway at the bridge remained blocked until authorities worked to process the scene.
Officials with the Dane County Sheriff’s Office and Wisconsin State Patrol responded to the scene to assist the SPPD.
An investigation remains ongoing. As of this writing, none of the involved drivers has been arrested or charged.
