RACINE COUNTY, WI — A 20-year-old woman has died after a crash Monday involving a suspected intoxicated driver on Wisconsin Highway 32 in Caledonia, reports WISN.
The collision occurred on a span of highway (Douglas Avenue) between Tabor Road and Harvest Lane on December 12, at around 6:15 a.m.
Village of Caledonia Police said a 21-year-old man was driving southbound when his vehicle ran past the center line and hit a northbound car, which was driven by the victim.
Caledonia Fire Department crews had to extricate the victim, who suffered life-threatening injuries. She was flown to a local hospital where she died the following day, December 13.
The causing driver, who sustained minor injuries, was transported to a nearby hospital. He was later arrested and booked into the Racine County Jail. Authorities said alcohol was found to have been a factor in the fatal wreck.
