MILWAUKEE, WI — One person was injured early Monday due to a fiery vehicle accident at General Mitchell International Airport in Milwaukee’s south side, according to CBS58.
The wreck took place on the main entrance to the airport from Wisconsin Highways 119 and 38 that connects to the baggage claim/arrivals area.
It was unclear what led up to the collision, but the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office indicated only one vehicle was involved, and that the vehicle had caught fire moments after.
Authorities said the driver suffered injuries considered non-fatal, but did not provide further details on the victim’s condition.
A section of the road, known locally as “baggage drive,” was shut down during the emergency response but was reopened shortly after 2:00 a.m.
