JEFFERSON COUNTY, WI — Two people, including a Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputy, were hospitalized Sunday morning after a collision on Interstate 94 near Oconomowoc, reports TMJ4.
The sheriff’s office said the collision occurred on the eastbound interstate near County Road F.
An early investigation shows a deputy had originally been at the scene to provide security for a tow truck driver who was removing a semi-truck from the median. At one point, an eastbound vehicle collided with the deputy’s squad car while he was in it.
First responders transported both the deputy and the driver of the striking vehicle to an area hospital. Authorities have not released information regarding the extent of their injuries.
An investigation by the Wisconsin State Patrol was underway.
