Milwaukee Police said an identified man was driving eastbound on Capitol Drive, when, for reasons still unknown, he lost control of the vehicle. Moments later, the vehicle struck a tree and caught fire.

First responders confirmed both the driver and a single passenger died from their injuries at the scene. The occupants were described as a 29-year-old man and a 39-year-old man, though it remains unclear who was driving at the time.
