RACINE COUNTY, WI — A deputy’s vehicle was hit by another car last Friday while authorities were responding to one of several semi crashes on Interstate 41 near Caledonia, reports FOX 6 Milwaukee.
The incident occurred on November 18 near County Highway K and occurred some time after the Wisconsin Department of Transportation reported a series of semi-truck crashes at 5:00 a.m.
Details remain limited, but the Racine County Sheriff’s Office said a deputy was responding to a jackknifed semi just prior to the wreck. Officials noted the deputy was not in the RCSO vehicle at the time and was not injured, but the squad car had to be towed from the scene.
No charges or citations have been reported.
At the time of the squad car crash, the jackknifed semi and multiple other weather-related semi crashes were impacting both northbound and several lanes.
