MILWAUKEE, WI — Two young adults died late Monday after a two-vehicle crash that left a teenager injured in northwest Milwaukee, according to TMJ4.
The fatal wreck occurred near West Villard Avenue and North Teutonia Avenue, in the city’s Old North Milwaukee neighborhood. It was first reported at about 11:30 p.m.
An early investigation by Milwaukee Police indicates a driver in a stolen blue Hyundai ran a red light at the intersection, resulting in a crash with a Buick SUV. Moments later, the driver of the Hyundai fled the scene, leaving a 17-year-old boy injured in the passenger seat. First responders transported the teen to a local hospital with injuries believed to be non-life-threatening.
Officials said the Buick’s 22-year-old driver and a 20-year-old occupant in the front passenger seat were both pronounced deceased. Two passengers in the vehicle’s back seat suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
An investigation and search for unknown suspect(s) remain ongoing. Authorities noted they recovered a firearm in the aftermath of the crash but did not confirm which vehicle it came from.
