DODGE COUNTY, WI — Nine Holstein-Friesian cows died last Thursday night following a rollover semi-truck crash on U.S. Highway 151 in the township of Chester, reports TMJ4.
The incident occurred on the northbound US-151 entrance ramp from Wisconsin Highway 26 on November 10, at around 9:00 p.m.
According to the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, a Potosi man was behind the wheel of a 1994 Peterbilt tractor-trailer carrying 38 cows when he pulled over on the shoulder of the onramp. Officials said due to the soft conditions of the shoulder, the semi began to slide downward until it overturned.
Officials said nine of the 38 cows onboard succumbed to injuries suffered in the wreck.
No injuries to the driver or anyone else were reported.
The sheriff’s office was among six different agencies that responded to the scene. No other information has been released at this time.
