MILWAUKEE, WI — Two young adults were arrested Tuesday morning after crashing their car during a police pursuit on Wisconsin Highway 57 in Milwaukee’s north side, reports TMJ4.
The collision occurred near the highway (North Green Bay Avenue) intersection with West Sheridan Avenue, shortly after 12:00 p.m.
According to Milwaukee Police, officers had identified a driver as a homicide suspect and attempted to conduct a traffic stop near 6th and Burleigh. Authorities said the driver refused to stop and then sped away, prompting a chase. At one point, the fleeing driver crashed their vehicle near WIS-57 and Sheridan Avenue.
It was unclear whether anyone was hurt, but following the wreck, two male occupants aged 21 and 19 were taken into custody. Authorities did not say which person was the driver.
At this time, criminal charges are expected to be filed.
