JEFFERSON COUNTY, WI — One person died Saturday morning after a collision that left another person seriously injured on Wisconsin Highway 16 in Ixonia, reports TMJ4.
The fatal accident occurred near the intersection with County Highway SC at about 11:05 a.m.
According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, one vehicle was heading westbound when it slowed down and started to make a U-turn in the path of a second westbound vehicle. The second vehicle then struck the turning vehicle on the driver’s side.
The driver of the turning vehicle died from their injuries at the scene, confirmed officials.
Medics transported the second driver to an area hospital with serious injuries. No details on their condition have been released.
An investigation by the JCSO remains ongoing.
