RACINE COUNTY, WI — One person was critically injured Tuesday morning in a crash involving an overturned semi-truck on Interstate 41/94 near Caledonia, reports TMJ4.
The collision occurred on the northbound lanes near 7 Mile Road. It was first reported by TMJ4 at 12:35 p.m.
According to the Racine County Sheriff’s Office, a semi-tractor trailer transporting pallets slid and then rolled onto its side, striking as many as six other vehicles.
CBS58 reported three people were transported to a local hospital with injuries considered non-life-threatening.
The interstate was completely shut down for several hours as crews worked to clear the scene. The response involved unloading pallets, getting the semi upright, and removing all involved vehicles.
The closure caused a traffic to be backed up to Highway K. By 4:30 p.m., all lanes had been reopened.
