MILWAUKEE, WI — A 20-year-old man died Wednesday night after a multi-vehicle wreck that injured two others in northwest Milwaukee’s Vogel Park area, reports TMJ4.
The fatal collision occurred near West Appleton Avenue and West Villard Avenue at about 9:00 p.m.
According to Milwaukee Police, one vehicle was traveling a high rate of speed during a possible street race with another vehicle when its driver lost control and collided with another car. The impact of that crash sent the car into multiple trees.
Officials said the 20-year-old man, who was a passenger in the striking vehicle, died as a result of his injuries. The driver of that vehicle, who was rushed to a local hospital with serious injuries, was taken into custody and is expected to face charges.
The driver of the victim car suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was also taken to a hospital.
Milwaukee Police and the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office have since confirmed three vehicles were involved in the wreck, but it was unclear how anyone in the third unknown vehicle was impacted.
