EAU CLAIRE COUNTY, WI — A 22-year-old man was arrested last Saturday morning after a multi-vehicle wreck off U.S. Highway 12 in southwest Eau Claire, reports TMJ4.
The crash happened near the highway (North Clairemont Avenue) intersection with Menomonie Street at around 9:20 a.m.
Eau Claire Police said the young man was behind the wheel of a vehicle that careened off the road and struck another vehicle that was stopped at the lighted intersection. His vehicle then entered a parking lot where it rolled into a parked car.
The causing driver, who blew a preliminary breath test (PBT) of .242, was arrested at the scene. He faces charges of Operating While Intoxicated – First Offense and recklessly endangering safety in the second degree.
Authorities said no life-threatening injuries were reported, but it was unclear whether anyone had to be transported to a hospital.
