GREEN BAY, WI — At least one person died Sunday night after a traffic incident on West Mason Street in Green Bay’s west side, according to NBC26.
The fatal event occurred on a span of the road (Wisconsin Highway 32) at South Oneida Street. It was first reported by NBC26 at 10:00 p.m.
Details remain limited, but a vehicle accident caused part of West Mason Street to close between Marquette Avenue and Meacham Street. Motorists were expected to be detoured away from the scene for the next eight hours following the wreck as authorities responded.
Green Bay Police later extended the clearance time by a couple of hours. Roads were rescheduled to reopen to traffic between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. the morning of Monday, October 31.
The cause of the crash has not been disclosed, but authorities said a volume of debris had to be cleared from the roadway.
An investigation remains ongoing.
