MILWAUKEE COUNTY, WI — Six people were injured early Wednesday in a fiery rollover crash involving a bus on Interstate 43 near Greenfield, reports CBS58.
The incident occurred on the eastbound lanes at Exit 9 to South 27th Street. It was first reported shortly before 5:20 a.m.
According to the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office, a bus was traveling eastbound on the interstate when, for reasons still being investigated, it rolled over and became completely engulfed in flames.
Both MCSO officials and Milwaukee Fire Department crews responded to the scene, where six people suffered injuries. All patients were transported to a local hospital where their conditions remain undisclosed.
All eastbound traffic was diverted to southbound I-94 during the response and investigation, causing delays in the area. Officials said the closure was expected to remain in place for multiple hours.
