OUTAGAMIE COUNTY, WI — Thirteen students and one adult were injured Wednesday morning due to a two-vehicle wreck involving a school bus in New London, reports NBC26.

The accident happened on a span of County Highway S just south of Wisconsin State Highway 54. Officers with the New London Police Department responded to the scene at about 8:23 a.m.

It was unclear what caused the crash, but authorities said a Manawa School District bus was stopped on railroad tracks on the highway when it was hit from behind by a cargo van.

Officials said the school bus was carrying 36 passengers at the time, including 32 students, 3 staff members, and the driver.

13 students from the bus and the driver of the van all suffered non-life-threatening injuries. First responders transported the patients to local hospitals, where their conditions remain undisclosed.

New London Police continue to investigate, but at this time, alcohol is not believed to have been a factor.
