MILWAUKEE COUNTY, WI — A 74-year-old Waukesha woman has died after a two-vehicle wreck last Friday in West Allis that claimed the life of another person, according to TMJ4.

The fatal accident happened in the area of West National Avenue and West Lincoln Avenue on September 9. West Allis Police responded to the scene shortly before 10:00 p.m.

Authorities said a 24-year-old man was driving a Buick eastbound on National Avenue when he entered the intersection, traveled onto the median. Moments later, the Buick collided head-on with a westbound GMC driven by a 68-year-old Waukesha man.

Both male drivers and the woman, who was a passenger in the GMC, all suffered serious injuries. All patients were rushed to a local hospital, where the driver of the Buick was pronounced deceased shortly after.

Officials confirmed the woman died from her injuries on Monday, three days later. As of this writing, the Waukesha man remains in the hospital.

At this time, investigators believe speed factored into the wreck.

No further information has been released.
